On August 31, 1995, Glenn Swart, Jacques Driessen and Alan Sodenkamp buy the café at 119 Utrechtsestraat. Café Perry was located in the building. The three entrepreneurs decide to make the entire cafe casco since the whole thing is an old mess. With the help of many friends and after many months of toil and stress, Café Onder de Ooievaar opens its doors on February 29, 1996. The entrepreneurs, who have worked together for years in the music café De Korte Golf, make Onder de Ooievaar a busy café.
